jobs with U.S. census office

The following letter provides information regarding census jobs for interested young people. The minimum age for employment with the census is 18, but there is no discrimination based on age at all other than that.

The US Census Office managed by J. Daniel John is currently seeking to hire over a thousand census enumerators and crew leaders within the next month. Pay is $18.25/hr for the enumerator (door-to-door census taker) positions and around $21 for crew leaders.  The US Census Office ask applicants to take a short multiple choice test when they apply, and a practice test can found at the website www.2010censusjobs.gov.

To find out about schedules and locations for testing and applying, please notify the census office at 312.453.9040.

Hours can vary as can length of employment.  Enumerators work in coordination with crew leaders to determine the actual workload but have considerable autonomy when performing their work.  I'm sure that the right candidates will find the 2010 census to be quite a valuable experience.

For additional information please contact the number listed above. When calling, mention that you were informed about this opportunity through ASM and J. Daniel John.
